Therefore, you will not feel any discomfort while your dentist places your implant.

How long does a dental implant last?

To begin with, a healthy and well maintained implant can stay in your jawbone for a lifetime.
However, there are many factors affecting the prognosis of a dental implant. For example; oral hygiene, jaw bone quality, systemic diseases, alcohol and smoking etc.
In addition to bone diseases, diabetes and some medicines may have a negative impact on implant prognosis. After investigating your medical & social history and after analysing your x-ray, your dentist will decide if your jaw is compatible for the dental implant procedure.
Different clinics give different periods of guarantee for their dental implant procedures.
At Esdent Dental Centre in Turkey, implants are under guarantee for 10 years. In the unlikely event of any problems occurring such as failure of fusion, peri-implantitis etc, Esdent Dental Centre will do the maintenance (including bone grafts if required) or replacement of dental implant at no extra charge.

Fusion Period This is the time period required for a dental implant to fuse with the jaw bone. Normally it takes 3 or 4 months for a dental implant to fuse with the jaw bone. In this while, you will have a healing cap over your dental implant. You can discuss about a temporary prosthesis with your dentist until fusion period ends.
After this period, your dentist will fit your prosthesis. However, you do not need to wait this long. Immediate prosthesis is also an option which reduces the time required.

Immediate Prosthesis Immediate placement of the prosthesis has become the new trend in implant dentistry. Following the placement of dental implants, our expert dental technicians will start preparing your prosthesis in our in-house technology-rich dental laboratory. As soon as your prosthesis are ready, our dentist will fit them and you will be ready to go! As a result the whole procedure will take about 4 or 5 days.
